i Spy: Kiwiana - Live Prize Draws at term 2 final assembly

At the final assembly for term 2 we had the "Live Prize Draws" for the i Spy: Kiwiana fundraiser.

Congratulations to all our winners.

Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser we have raised over $8,500 to go towards the school pool complex upgrade.

Calendar Art 2017 - PTA fundraiser

This year the PTA are doing this fundraiser differently from previous years with the introduction of the School Arts Week and new online ordering for parents.

Classes are currently creating the artwork for the calendars ready for Arts week. Thank you to our amazing teachers for their creativity and support with this.

We are asking teachers to display the artwork calendars in their classrooms so that parents have the opportunity to view during the 3 Way Learning Conferences on the 5th & 6th July.  

We will then send all the artwork to Abacus who will process the images and put online.  

Customised order forms will be sent home in term 3 with students and parents will be able to order online - there is the option to purchase premium or classic calendars, kids notepads, diaries, cards and mousepads using either students artwork or a photo that can be uploaded.

Testing for i Spy took place last week, middle and senior students will have been sent an email with their results.  Junior students will have had their answer sheet sent home.

Kids Caring for Kids - Mufti Day this Friday

PTA Mufti Day is this Friday. All the funds raised will be sent directly to Waiau School. 

Room 20 approached the PTA after they saw what had happened in the Earthquakes in Wellington and the South Island and discussed as a class what had happened and how they could help. 

They investigated Waiau School as they were all saddened by the damage to the school pool. These are some things they found out about the school: 

• Learning for Life, is their motto - this is exactly the same as ours!

• Miss Mary Kimber Principal - 3 classes only

• 200 -250 people sleeping in the school buildings or in their cars in the school grounds

• water was off

• brick homes broken

• roads and power lines broken

• many people have left the area

• pool cracked and all water drained away

This is a small country school with only 3 classes. Their pool has cracked – all the water has leaked out and lots of families are sleeping at the school because their houses have been damaged by the strong earthquake.

Let’s help them out!

Reminder PTA Sausage Sizzle - Orders Due Thursday

The PTA sausage sizzle is on next Monday 7th November and orders are due this Thursday 3rd November.  All orders to be made through Wrap it Up

Unfortunately we will not be able to accept any late orders sorry.

We have noticed an increase in our veggie orders and ask parents to please check their child's order through wrap it up to make sure they have ordered the correct sausage.  If you have selected the wrong option can you please email the PTA at pta@sunnyhills.school.nz with the subject Sausage Sizzle and your child's name - room number  -  correct item before Friday 4th November.
